Welcome to Living Wage Week 2024! From the 4th to 10th of November, we’ll be celebrating the power of fair pay with events happening across the country and online. Join us to highlight the importance of fair pay, share inspiring stories, and shape the future of work.     04/11/24 - Celebrating the achievements of the Making London a Living Wage City campaign and its contribution towards improving good working practices across London. In this this in-person event we will be hearing from leaders in London’s communities about their experience of low pay and insecure work and their campaigning for change. Thanking and celebrating those involved in the Living Wage movement and recognising employers who’ve gone above and beyond, including through the Living Hours accreditation

    05/11/24 - Join us for an evening event hosted by Lambeth Council, bringing together businesses and community leaders from across South London to discuss the impact of the real Living Wage. This cross-borough event will explore ways to promote fair pay and collaboration across the region, highlighting successes and opportunities for further progress.

    07/11/24 -  Join the Bishop of London for an exclusive breakfast event focused on the Living Wage in the museum sector. This private gathering will bring together key leaders to discuss the importance of fair pay in cultural institutions and explore ways to drive positive change.

    04/11/24 - Futureproofing Greater Manchester Through Fair Pay, Secure Hours And Living Pensions. This in-person event will bring together Living Wage employers and supporters to celebrate fair pay in the region, whilst taking a closer look at how Living Wage and Living Hours accreditation can help to future-proof your business. We will be joined by the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham as well as Living Wage employers from across our City Region. Get ready for inspiring speeches, interactive activities and networking opportunities.

    05/11/24 - Join us for a special gathering in North Shields where we’ll explore the impact of the Living Wage movement on improving working conditions across the North East. Celebrate the achievements of the Living Wage City campaigns in Sunderland and Newcastle as we come together to transform our region into a Living Wage Region! Celebrate the launch of Preston as a Living Wage City at this special event, where local leaders, businesses, and community members will come together to mark the city’s commitment to fair pay. Join us to learn more about Preston’s journey toward becoming a Living Wage City and how this initiative will benefit workers and the local economy.

    06/11/24 - The Norwich Living Wage Action Group is delighted to invite you to the Norwich Living Wage Week Event on Wednesday the 6th of November from 6:00pm -7.45pm at the Theatre Royal, Norwich. The event will be an update of the second year of the Norwich Living Wage Action Group activities and a celebration of Living Wage Week 2024.     08/11/24 - Join us for a private lunch in Brighton, led by Citizens UK, to celebrate Living Wage Week. This exclusive event will bring together local businesses and community leaders to discuss Brighton’s progress as a Living Wage City and explore opportunities for further promoting fair pay in the region.

    05/11/24 - Tuesday 5th Nov, 9.30am-1pm – Living Wage Scotland 

    A hosted event at Glasgow Caledonian University, sponsored by APSE. The event title is ‘Becoming an Employer of Choice’. The event will cover examples of good practice in the workplace focusing on flexible working, the 4-day working week, employee health and wellbeing and the benefits of Living Wage accreditation and the associated Living Hours and Pensions schemes.

    Wales

    04/11/24 - This event in Cardiff will celebrate employers who have helped to develop the real Living Wage in Wales and to explore the role of the real Living Wage in shaping a more equal Welsh economy and society. Come and meet Living Wage Employers from across Wales, and hear from a range of speakers who work for or are leading Living Wage organisations. The event is on Monday 4th November, 2-4pm at Norwegian Church Arts Centre, Cardiff Bay.

    06/11/24 - The real Living Wage in primary care workshop. Attend this workshop to explore the role of the real Living Wage in primary care and its benefits for healthcare workers. Industry experts will discuss practical ways to introduce the Living Wage in primary care settings and the positive impact it can have on staff wellbeing and patient care.

    06/11/24 - Join us online on Wednesday 6th November from 1pm-2pm to learn more about why Living Hours accreditation is good for business, good for workers and good for society.

    The Living Hours accreditation is a practical way to tackle in-work poverty, building on the foundation of the Living Wage and ensuring that everyone has the secure working hours they need to thrive. In this webinar we will explain the difference between the voluntary Living Hours standard and the new legal minimum requirements set to be introduced by the Employment Rights Bill. We will hear from the Living Wage Foundation and a panel of experts about the problem of insecure work and the benefits of Living Hours for individual workers, for businesses and for society and the economy. Finally, there will be time for an audience Q and A.
